FAQ:
Q: How do you say Amicitia?
A:There are some debates going around as to the correct way to say Amicitia. For the most part we just say however you would like, but the officers have settled on the following: Am--e--sea--shuh (Amicitia)
Q:What does Amicitia mean? Where does it come from?
A:These 2 go hand in hand. It comes from the poem De Amicitia - (On Friendship) by Cicero . So dropping the De (On) from the title you get Amicitia (Friendship). For a more in depth view see About.com: Ancient / Classical History or Wikipedia: De Amicitia This was a good description of how this guild came to be formed. A group of friends left another guild seeking a smaller place to play with less stress and drama. From this idea Amicitia was born.
Q: Is Amicitia currently recruiting?
A: Yes,we are looking for exceptional players and people.
Q: Will Amicitia open recruiting again in the near future?
A:We open recruitment from time to time to backfill open slots. It has no season or time frame but is based on guild make-up, capacity and long term needs. Our recruitment process is focused on identifying people who will remain active and with us long-term. T8 gear or Blue post status is a plus but not a gurantee.
Q: What is the process for joining?
A: Our process is simple. First you must fill out an Application, which will be posted to the guild to read and review. After the guild reviews your application we will decide if we feel you may fit our guild. If we decide you do not the process will end there; otherwise we will contact you for a series of trials. These trials may take place over a week period, so that we may run with the applicant in a number of different events with as many different guild members as possible. The events will be decided on by the guild according to the person(s) applying (note that these events will most likely be heroics unless the applicant does not have the requirements to run them). After completing these trials everyone who has run with the applicant will make their notes on the application for review, at which point the guild will vote on membership.
Q: How long does the applicatioin process take?
A: The time for each applicant will vary. The process time will be directly effected by how well we know the person in question and how soon we can get the trail runs together. The process will usually be shorter the better we know you, but should take no more than 2 weeks.
Q: Does Amicitia have a class or membership limit?
A: Yes! We do not want our guild to be a large one. We prefer the smaller, friendlier atmosphere that we have come to know and love. We have class limits. We do not want to take in more of a certain class than we can provide for, causing stress and tension among our members. If we see we can not provide for a certain class or spec we will ask you to remain an ally until a time we feel we can provide. There are exceptions which will be made at the GM's request only.
Q: Does Amicitia allow multiple accounts per user?
A: No! We do not allow any member to have more than one account.
Q: Does Amicitia raid?
A: Currently we have official raids on Wednesdays and Thursdays for our 10 man content. 25 man content is where the focus of the guild
Q: Can I raid with Amicitia even if I’m not in the guild?
A: Certainly. We have a sign-up system for our raids, with our own guild members receiving first priority. Anyone who signs up to raid with us is subject to restrictions based on class balance for the raid.
